Description

Led Zeppelin - II

(Atlantic SAL 933615 LP 1969)

This is an Australian Stereo 1st press LP. It has a different sleeve to its UK counterpart. It has a heavyweight front laminated gatefold sleeve. The front part of the gatefold sleeve is printed on thinner card. The sleeve has a "Stereo" printed on the front - in the top left corner. The rear sleeve has both Stereo and Mono catalogue numbers printed on it. The catalogue numbers are printed in green. The spine text is printed in green too. The inner gatefold has a band photo which is printed in green too. This is a unique sleeve variation. Only the very earliest OZ pressings have this sleeve variation. It comes with its original plain paper inner sleeve.

The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has green & silver "Atlantic" labels. Again, only the very earliest pressings have green & silver labels. It has 1st press matrix numbers.

A genuine Australian Stereo 1st pressing from 1969. It has a green tint photo on the inner gatefold. It has green & silver labels too. This pressing was only available to buy, I believe, for a short period. Therefore, they are quite rare.

Gatefold Sleeve: There is moderate to considerable rubbing wear to the bottom edges. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the top edges on some areas. There is moderate to more considerable rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is a mild 10 cm crease on the rear sleeve. This is at the top sleeve opening area. There is a very tiny rip, or tear, on the inner gatefold. There is a very small & mild bit of rubbing wear on the inner gatefold too. The spine is nice & clean overall. The spine text is completely legible. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear. This is mainly on the rear sleeve. Overall, Very Good condition

Vinyl: There are some mild, more moderate to moderate sleeve rubs, or surface rub marks, which can be seen under a strong light. There are about 10 light or very mild surface hairline marks. These measure from 1.5 cm to 7 cm in length. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some mild, very mild or more moderate dull surface marks on some areas. These can only be seen under a strong light. Overall, Good condition. The labels are in Near Excellent condition & show mild spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in Very Good condition. There is one small seam split at the centre of both side edges. These measure 3 cm and 4 cm. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear, fading, staining & creasing. There is some small writing at one side edge of the inner sleeve.

I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle noticeable in some quieter places. The crackle never overpowers the music. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy.
