Description
588198 Zep II first pressing from 1969 as indicated by the inclusion of 'The Lemon Song' title on the Red & Plum Atlantic label. This particular LP would have been one of the very first to come off the press as the label also credits the track 'Livin Lovin Maid' as 'Livin Lovin Wreck'. This is very hard to find in any condition, and particularly so in excellent condition.
Vinyl (Ex) As you can see from the labels in the photos this record has been played sparingly. It still retains its original factory shine and under close scrutiny there are practically no visible markings. A thorough testing (from start to finish) reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Run-ins and in-betweens are nice and quiet (confirming again this record has not been overplayed) and the audio comes across clean and powerful. Original Zep records are often let down by background crackle, but not here. This one really highlights its quality in the intros to songs where the percussion and vocals build up slowly from a low level - without interference. (weight - 160grams).
Cover (VG++) Original light brown cover printed by E.J.Day. As the Zep II covers were never laminated they nearly always exhibit more wear than other albums of a similar age. This particular one is still in great condition considering it is 37 years of age. There's a bit of shelfwear to the corners and spine (spine text is still fully legible) and a modicum of ringwear on the rear, but in all other respects it is excellent (no markings, or bends, or rips). This is still a really nice example of an original unlaminated cover. Inner sleeve (VG+)
