Description

An original 1st press Zep II killer copy by Atlantic in the UK. Matrix A/B. 1st pressings are often identifiable by the track KF still showing as 'Lemon Song'. Note this is very 1st pressing and actually pressed by PYE. You can also determine an early copy by the type-set employed on the labels too. Demand was so high initially they had to contract out to PYE to fulfil demand. Look at the labels - notice the inner concentric rings.  The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover by E J Day [correct lighter brown hues]. Will ship in an anti-static inner.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In really great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, a superficial trail - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with minimal deviation very occasionally. The dynamics they managed to pack onto these early copies is just awesome. Bone crunchingly heavy guitar. I don't care what fancy super duper reissue says it can manage. Nothing gets close to an original clean player. This copy is really not all that far off the best copies. The lowkey sections and breaks - very nice and clean. That's not something you can often say. You'll get to hear Plant's vocal echoes etc. Intro to TY & BIOH...nice and clean.. that's not always the case. Tapping on the way into RAMBLE...super cool. Really nice clean feed most of the time. Expect an occasional light crackle here and there - it's not perfect! [e.g. Moby]  But nothing that stands a chance against the mighty power of Zep! You can't fail to be rather awestruck when listening to a copy like this.
Cover (Vg) Original covers are hellishly difficult to find in decent condition. This example is pretty nice looking - probably about average. Nice clean and flat front with not much sign of ageing. Interior looks very well preserved. Nice firm openings panel. The rear looks really good with some handling and a touch of ageing top right. A fair bit of edge wear in places - nothing problematic at all. Spine is above average with light wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
