Led Zeppelin II Ludwig RL Hot Mix SD8236 NO SS/NOT Monarch Worn

I'm selling a Led Zeppelin II 1969 Atlantic Records First Edition, First Pressing Vinyl, catalogue # SD8236.

UPDATE as of 6/1/25: I had the album assessed; the man said, "Yes it's a hot mix, and it's a hot mess. It's possible it would hurt my record player to play it."

I do think it's a crazy rare pressing because it definitely has RL on at least one side and seems to almost certainly NOT be Monarch and does NOT have SS anywhere on it. I have never come across an LZ II album with all of these characteristics simultaneously.

These are the markings it has:

Dead wax side 1:  ST- A - 691671 A LW W .AT RL 

Dead wax side 2:  ST- A - 691672 M LW .AT *

*Note: after ".AT" on Side 2, there seems to be a very faint marking. It could almost be "RL," but it looks more like "pL." Just like that - lowercase p, uppercase L. That's probably not what it says, but it looks like exactly that. It's so faint, I couldn't hardly get it to show up in picture #17 (where only the red of the Side 1 label is showing besides the vinyl). 

I tried to painstakingly capture as much as I could through pictures. The first 9 pictures of the vinyl only are of Side 1, and the last 6 pictures of the vinyl only are of Side 2. I tried to capture both all of the markings and the scratches. I'm trying to do my best with the accuracy of my information but am no expert and welcome any additional info you could send me.

The jacket (which can easily be upgraded since it’s the same as the non-RL pressings) I would estimate to be G+. It has a couple of tears along spine and no holes or cuts. There is a stain on the back upper right corner, and in the same spot there is the name "Kathy McGlasson." The inner sleeve looks good - some slight bends and a partial split in the bottom seam.

I'm also running another LZ II vinyl in VG+ condition alongside this one if you want to check it out, but it's not an RL hot mix.

GRADES FOR VINYL:

Sealed: Cover Jacket is sealed in shrink wrap, disc is sold “as is” and is not inspected

NM: Near perfect with no visible signs of handling

EX : No scratches. Very few light imperfections that won’t affect the overall sound.

VG+ : May have sleeve scuffs, light marks and/or a couple of light scratches, but the record plays well. May have light noise in the quietest passages.

VG : Displays a number of light marks and/or scratches. May have background noise, especially in between songs.

VG- : At least one mark/scratch of which can be felt with a fingernail. Many scratches, scuffs, marks. May have background noise, pops, etc.

G: Heavy wear, marks, scratches scuffs. This record has background noise, pops, etc.

GRADES FOR COVERS:

NM: Near perfect with no visible signs of handling

EX: Looks almost perfect, but may have a couple of imperfections after closer inspection.

VG+: Typically has a few imperfections such as slight creasing or slight ring wear, or slight wear from storage. Very slight seam wear or splits in the spine. May have saw cut, punch hole or corner cut.

VG: More pronounced wear than VG+. Perhaps several scuffs, scratches on the cover and more prominent spine wear and/or ring wear. Might have noticeable staining, saw cut, punch hole, or cut.

VG-: Similar to VG, but may have one or more significant flaws such as heavy spine splitting or heavy staining, scuffing, etc. Might have saw cut, punch hole, or corner cut.

G: Heavy wear, marks, scratches, staining, spine damage.

Let me be clear. I've been told this record is hardly playable, so when you bid, be aware of that.

Also a fellow member kindly just informed me, "This is a German pressing. GEMA on label. RL on one side only. Not as desirable an a US press."
