The vinyl is in Very Good condition. It has some sleeve removal marks, some scratches and scuffs on both sides but it plays a lot better than it looks. The record doesn't skip or jump anywhere and the sound quality is fantastic! There is some surface noise in quieter segments and the scratches can cause ticks / pops but overall the sound is very confident and it's still a nice, listenable copy.
The cover is in Very Good condition, too. It shows some age-related wear and unfortunately the spine isn't very readable anymore but it's seams/flaps are holding together nicely and it feels good to hold in the hand. Please note that this cover is a rare crossover copy that has a newer Atlantic K40037 catalog sticker placed over the original 588198 print on the cover from the factory. I believe these stickers were placed on leftover stock as Atlantic changed over to their newer label design and their supply of already pressed Plum/Red copies and their respective covers started to run dry. I believe these are seldom seen!
The record comes in a generic white paper inner sleeve that looks to be newer than the record. It's in decent shape
Despite the wear, this record's sound quality is still pretty good and although it won't be for the most discriminating audiophile it could still serve as a good addition to any Led Zeppelin collection. The first A2/B2 issue is a wonderful sounding pressing!
