Insanely rare Hot Bob Ludwig Monarch first pressing in VG+ condition! Crazy hard to come by in this condition! Bid early and often!
Original 1969 Led Zeppelin II, Atlantic SD 8236, Monarch pressing, Robert (Bob) Ludwig Hot Mix RL SS.
"US 1st pressing, featuring Robert Ludwig's "hot" mastering on both sides. These were withdrawn early because the high bass levels caused low-grade cartridges to mistrack, leading people to return the album on the belief that it was defective. Another engineer was then hired to recut a much less "hot" version of the album, and that is the far more common version."
Front Cover is somewhere between VG+ and Excellent. Pictures speak a thousand words. Seems have not split despite the nearly 50 years of age.
Original sleeves are included and in excellent condition.
This exceedingly rare record is pressed on a weighty ~160 gram black wax that I would describe as being in VG+ overall condition. Side 1 is between VG+ and Excellent condition. Side 2 is between VG and VG+ condition.
Labels are crisp, well printed and have the Broadway NY address.
It has absolutely seen a record player or two over the years, but the audio is still incredible sounding. Audio jumps out at you. Truly a hot mix.
Record was stored for over 30 years in a temperature controlled storage unit which is the reason for its excellent overall condition.
Back of cover has similar wear comparable to the front cover VG+ nearing Excellent condition. Pictures should show this.
