Description
Let me be completely unambiguous here. This version is the one and only genuine first UK press on the Atlantic plum and red label. Matrix numbers 588198 A2 / B2. Let me be very clear, this album has the second song, side two listed as "LIVIN' LOVIN' WRECK". Song three side one is listed as "THE LEMON SONG" with credit to Page, Bonham, Plant, Jones. This is absolutely the first press, first release version of this album. There has never been a more contentious or controversial album in recording history. Later version changed "WRECK" to "MAID" as per the album cover. Then came the Chester Burnett (Howlin' Wolf) incident which required the album to have a song title change from "LEMON SONG" to "KILLING FLOOR" and subsequent legal action followed. Then the case was settled and the title was finally returned to "LEMON SONG" with co-writer credit to Burnett. Each one of those albums are collectible and interesting albums in the history of this release but none-the-less there is only one first release, the one that is listed here. I personally own a version of every one of these editions and will list separately at a later date on the conclusion of this auction. The album offered here is in very good condition with light surface marks and static in quiet moments. Otherwise plays extremely well, clear and loud.
So forget the utter rubbish you read about this album from others here on eBay, if the album does not have the "wreck" misprint on he side 2 label then it's not a first press. Get your hands on one before they dissappear. They are rare!
