Description

An original 1st issue of Zep III on the UK Atlantic label from late 1970. Matrix A5/B5 - very 1st cut. Please note both labels mention 'Peter Grant' and this is absent from all later copies. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day deluxe cover with spinning wheel cover [fully operational]. Also included is an original 'plastic bag warning' inner sleeve from the time. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In super condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. These early red & plum copies really are top-level performers and the audio is to die for! Interference is both minor and infrequent. All we detected were a couple of crackles briefly at the start of track 3, and then maybe a couple of others in a couple of other isolated moments. By and large it is a superb copy and produces a very clean rendition. Even those very low-key parts of SIBLY play really clean and nothing interferes - you'd be hard pushed to better it! Please note both labels have a name written on them.
Cover (Ex) In very nice condition and has clearly been looked after down the years. Front and back are nice clean with just some light ageing creeping in at the extremities - as is common with this title. The interior looks great with minor ageing just noticeable at the top edge of the left panel. Edge wear is relatively light and the spine fully intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) A bit of light ageing. No splits.
