Led Zeppelin III – Atlantic Records SD 7201
Rare U.S. Presswell (PR) early pressing, with both sides cut from the original 1970 Mastercraft stampers, retaining the legendary Aleister Crowley deadwax inscriptions.
Deadwax / Runouts:
• Side A: ST-A-702006-B • “Do What Thou Wilt”
• Side B: ST-A-702006-A • Mastercraft RR • “Do What Thou Wilt”
Labels / Jacket:
• Green/red Atlantic labels, catalog SD 7201, Rockefeller Plaza address
• Jacket: 1841 Broadway address, original rotating pinwheel cover fully functional
• Atlantic catalog inner sleeve included
Notes:
This is not a mass pressed reissue. While most mid-70s pressings dropped the Crowley quotes, this transitional copy uniquely retains the “Do What Thou Wilt” inscription on both sides. Collectors like myself prize these copies as they preserve the mystique of the original 1970 first pressings.
Condition:
If I were to guess condition, it would be VG. This is straight from my decades old personal collection and though I am a seasoned collector, I don’t have much experience grading records. Please see pictures and feel free to reach out with any questions.
