No Warner Bros. credits on labels-indicates a very early press.
Very rare labels.
Above details confirms this album to be THE very first press of a huge popular album produced by the best rock group in the world…Led zeppelin!
Fantastic album on offer here. I must emphasise that this is THE very first pressing of this album as the LPs that followed ,showing credits for “The Killing Floor” instead of “The Lemon Song” on the labels, were in fact ,second pressings and are valued slightly less(Please refer to the Rare records book 2006).
Sleeve
Light brown gatefold sleeve. Original EJ Day printed. Later sleeves were darker in colour. Opens to near perfect inners. Slight wear showing on top and lower edges and wear also showing at one corner. Excellent condition with no writing, tears or rips! P. Grant credits.
Labels
Beautiful Atlantic Plum/reds. Near perfect condition. A few spider lines visible only when angled towards the light. A bright white band disects the two vibrant plum/red colours .Beautiful examples of a very early press .Produced by jimmy Page but NO Warner credits. Mega rare labels here showing a very early production. Only the very first pressings display such rare credits on the labels.
Vinyl
Stored in the original poly lined inner sleeve which is immaculate. Has the “early warning before play” insisting on sapphire or diamond stylus radius requirements .0005-.0007ins. Wonderful collector’s item! Inner sleeve mint minus! This vinyl has a lovely sheen to it and is graded visually excellent ,as there are a few surface marks visible , mainly seen under a very strong light. The vinyl boasts a very highly reflective surface and has a minimal playing history.
Audio
Near silent grooves between tracks. Very pleasing quality here and most of the channels retain their original clarity. Background noise is virtually non existent and only the very occasional crackle can be detected. Generally, the tones are delivered with a warm punch and yet maintain a sharp definition. Will grade excellent/near mint minus though is probably even better in most parts of the audio.
Summary
A very scarce first press of a HUGE album. Highly sought after Atlantic plum/red labels, with unique credits only found on the earliest pressings, a highly polished vinyl boasting a mirror like sheen and a strong excellent-near mint audio grading. A stunning copy not to be overlooked.
