Description


An original 1st press on Red & Plum from 1971. Matrix A3/B3 - this is the very 1st Porky cut. Nothing exists any earlier. It also has the interesting typo - Misty Mountain Top [rather than Hop]. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover - 1st issue with heavy-card. The original 4 credit inner with exposed flips is also present. 100% genuine and complete 100%.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Has been well cared for and has seen only light use. A couple of slight marks per side - nothing problematic. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly Excellent+ level of playback. Lovely quiet intros and inbetweens - most copies will not hit this level. Clean feeder throughout. The audio is just superb on these early copies. I'm not even picking out anything in the super fussy opening to Stairway. Nothing at all - and that is a difficult find. An A3/B3 that plays clean into Evermore/Stairway/California. these are very fussy tracks and only a super well preserved copy will manage a total clean feed. Overall - very very appealing and highly addictive. Very much worthy of serious consideration -- and I don't think you'll be seeing another one playing this darn well at this price point.
Cover (Ex) Well you won't find many originals looking this fine. Very nice clean surfaces. Slight edge wear - but nothing worrisome. Spine is 99% intact with minor wear. Very little sign of wear or creasing on surfaces. Really fine original copy with a super interior. Excellent rigidity thanks to heavy-card construction.
Inner (Vg+) Nice. But some wear and tear to that one corner. No edge splits.
