Description
An original 1st press of Zep IV on the UK Atlantic label. Matrix A3/B4. Please note the labels are carrying the 'Misty Mountain Top' error [later correct to "Hop"]. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included is the original textured lyric inner sleeve [with flip-overs per 1st issue]. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg/Vg+) In very nice condition despite having seen light to moderate use. Do expect a few light marks either side, and one that's just getting feelable - nothing heavy or likely to cause significant issue. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly VERYGOOD+ level of playback on Side 2 and VERYGOOD level of playback on side 2. Side 2 plays great with, to be honest, not an awful lot to complain at. I picked up a few crackles to the intro on 'Mountain Hop', but other than that playback is relatively clean with just a few isolated crackles. Even the acoustic tracks on Side 2 play NICE....and 'Levee' is like 'Woah - coool!' One suspects that Side 1 has seen a bit more use and as a result it's grading a bit lower - mostly nearer VG. The elevated level of use on Side 1 is most noticeable, unsurprisingly, in the two acoustic tracks. Yes, you might pick out a few crackles in the 1st two tracks, and an isolated click, but against the sheer onslaught of the mighty Zep it doesn't really feature that much. In the acoustic tracks it is more noticeable. 'Stairway and Evermore' - do expect some lower level static audible in most parts. At no point is this invasive, but it's certainly audible whilst thankfully not detracting too much.
Cover (Ex-) Very nice looking original cover which has clearly been cared for. Both front and back are nice and clean without creasing or heavy wear. There's just one tiny brown stain on the extreme top left corner. The interior looks great too - no deterioration noticeable at all. Edge wear is relatively light and the spine looks fine with just a modicum of wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg) Very nice surfaces without wear or tear to them. There's a one inch side split and three inch split at the bottom edge.
