Led Zeppelin - IV (Four Symbols)
(Atlantic 2401012 UK LP 1971)
This is a 1971 UK original LP pressing. It has a heavyweight matt gatefold sleeve. This has no text printed on it. It comes with its original Lyric/ Information Inner Sleeve. This is printed on textured brown paper. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has red & maroon "Atlantic" labels. Side 2's label has the "Misty Mountain Top" song mis-credit. It has the "Jimmy Page" production credit. The matrix numbers are as follows:
Side 1: A-3 1 1 8 ("Pecko Duck" is etched in the dead wax)
Side 2: B-4 1 1 7 ("Porky" is etched in the dead wax)
A genuine UK original LP pressing of this classic early 1970's UK LP.
Gatefold Sleeve: There is some moderate to considerable rubbing wear along the bottom edges. There is mild, very mild to moderate rubbing wear to the top edges on some areas. There is moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips. There are two small 1 cm tears at the centre area of the rear sleeve opening only (see photo). There is light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the rear sleeve opening edges. There is light, very mild or very minor rubbing wear on the spine on a few areas. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on the rear sleeve. Overall, Very Good minus condition
Vinyl: There are some light, mild or very mild sleeve rubs which can only be seen under a strong light. There is one light 1.5 cm surface rub mark on Side 2. There is a very light 1.5 cm and 1 cm surface hairline marks on Side 1. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. These can hardly be seen under a strong light. Overall, a strong Very Good condition. The labels are in Very Good condition. There is some light, mild or very mild foxing on some areas. These are more noticeable on Side 2's label (see photo). Otherwise, mild or very mild spindle wear.
The Lyric/ Information Inner Sleeve is in Good+ condition. There is a 6 cm tear on one side. There is a 6 cm area of tape stain over the tear too. The tape is long gone. There is a 10 cm tape stain along the flipback on the other side of the inner sleeve. Again, the tape is long gone. There is a small 1.5 cm tear on this flipback too (see photo).
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays Very Good to Very Good+ overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. Overall, a very serviceable audio copy.
I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper inner sleeve. This will protect the original inner sleeve from any damage during transit.
