Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV - Original 1971 Vinyl - LP Very Good Condition 1st UK Press A3/B4/PECKO DUCK-PORKY/FLIPBACK INNER - Does Get Stuck on Last 30 seconds of Stairway To Heaven

I have for auction one copy of Led Zeppelin's Ultra Rare Plum/ Red 1971 album  "Led Zeppelin IV"  on vinyl. It is the original UK version - UK first pressing - A3/B4/PECKO DUCK-PORKY/FLIPBACK INNER.

Matrix: A3/B4 "1"/"1" MOTHERS /PECKO DUCK-PORKY

This album is ultra rare - the same copy as this sold for £180 on ebay at the beginning of November. It is not in the same condition as that record but still plays very beautifully.

EARLIEST EVER 1 TO 1 MOTHER STAMPERS AND A3/B4 MATRIX ENDINGS, ULTRA RARE CROSSED OUT/CORRECTED MATRIX SIDE ONE! MASTER PRESSERS SIGNATURE "PECKO DUCK" AND "PORKY" HAND ETCHED ON THE RUN OFF GROOVES SIDE ONE AND TWO! COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL INNER SLEEVE!!!

I have graded what I can see on both the record and cover according to Record Collector Magazine's Grading System. I tend to grade conservatively:

Cover: Good/ Very Good -  Rarely been out of a plastic folder since day it was bought second hand about 1996. Front and back cover are in good condition with a couple of line indents both front: 1inch and back: 4 inches long. 1 inch split on spine and it is worn down to the cardboard on the edges top and bottom. Inner sleeve has tape on 3 sides where little splits have appeared..

Record: - Side One: Very Good/ Fair: Signs of wear and one long light scratch all the way across. It plays with a little distortion from time to time. Gets stuck about 30 seconds before the end of Stairway to Heaven. I remedy this by pushing lightly towards the centre on the stylus as it gets close to the stuck point and it passes no problem.

Side Two. Very Good/ Good: Has some light distortion but plays all the way through without jumping or getting stuck.

All my albums for sale have been kept in plastic vinyl folders since the day they were purchased and come from my personal collection. 

Whenever I played any of my albums I always used a vinyl brush to remove any dust hence the good condition that these vinyl albums are in.

PRESENTED IN THE ORIGINAL SLEEVE

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:

"MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler."

As well as the above grades, Near Mint is often used as well; this is really for a record that appears new but is known to have been played because the label has light spindle marks or because it has come from a previous owner and is assumed to have been played by them. For records which appear to fall between the accepted grades, + and - are also often added to the grading.
