LED ZEPPELIN – IV / UNTITLED – RCA MUSIC SERVICE R112014 – ATLANTIC SD 7208 – 1S MATRIX – EX VINYL – ORIGINAL LYRIC INNER

Excellent-playing-surface collector copy of Led Zeppelin’s legendary untitled fourth album, universally known as Led Zeppelin IV, featuring the RCA Music Service R112014 club configuration.

This is not the standard retail Atlantic pressing.

The back jacket specifically states:

“Mfd. by RCA Music Service under License”

and carries RCA Music Service catalog number R112014 in addition to the familiar Atlantic SD 7208 catalog number.

The Side A deadwax has been inspected and carries:

R112014 A 1S

The RCA-specific 1S matrix makes this an especially interesting variation for collectors of Led Zeppelin pressings.

Documented examples of this RCA Music Service issue use R112014-specific matrices, including known copies with R112014A 1S / R112014B 1S configurations.

CONDITION — GOLDMINE GRADING

VINYL: EX

Beautiful-looking vinyl with excellent deep gloss.

The record has been photographed under strong direct lighting to make the playing surface as visible as possible.

There are some faint superficial sleeve/handling traces consistent with a carefully handled vintage record, but the vinyl remains extremely attractive overall. No major scratches are apparent from visual inspection.

I’m conservatively grading the vinyl EX rather than pushing it to Near Mint.

The classic Atlantic green/red labels remain clean and highly presentable.

Visually graded unless otherwise stated.

JACKET: VG

Original Atlantic SD 7208 / RCA Music Service R112014 gatefold jacket.

The jacket retains the iconic Led Zeppelin IV artwork and remains structurally presentable, but it does have significant visible age/storage wear that has been factored into the VG grade.

Most notably, there is paper loss, peeling and tearing at the upper-right area of the rear jacket, along with additional edge/corner wear and general surface wear.

The front artwork still displays very nicely despite the jacket wear.

Please examine all photographs carefully. The photos are an important part of the condition description and show the actual copy being offered.

ORIGINAL STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN LYRIC INNER: VG+

Original printed inner sleeve is included.

This is the distinctive vintage inner featuring the complete “Stairway to Heaven” lyrics in the original calligraphic artwork, along with the hermit illustration.

The inner remains highly presentable with some normal age, handling and light discoloration/toning consistent with a vintage paper insert.

Having the original lyric inner is an important addition, as many surviving copies have lost or replaced it over the decades.

RCA MUSIC SERVICE / MATRIX DETAILS

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTE

The vinyl is substantially nicer than the jacket.

The record itself grades EX, while the jacket is conservatively graded VG due primarily to the visible paper loss/peeling and tearing at the upper-right rear corner.

Please use the provided photographs to evaluate the cosmetic condition before purchasing.

SHIPPING

Record will ship outside the jacket in a protective inner sleeve, packed in a professional LP mailer with cardboard reinforcement to help prevent seam splits and shipping damage.
