Incredible marketing ploy with this LP
Six different versions of the same LP. The same disc with slightly different shots of the same "Bar Scene"
Each LP has a letter code at the top of the spine to denote which version you have. This particular one is letter "C"
These are hard to come by in mint condition because the package is so easy to spoil, but here is one that has been incredibly well looked after. In fcat it has been housed in a plastic outer since new to proted the paper bag, and the record has been kept seperately from the inner sleeve so that the inner could not be soiled through handling.
so lets start with the paper bag.
The brown paper bag was used to house the album cover. I suppose it meant that you couldn't see which of the 6 covers you were getting until you removed the brown paper bag. the bag . The bag does have the name of the Lp stamped on the front, and the track listing on the back. I wonder how many of this bags were torn away from the LP and thrown away. I do know that those that were not thrown away in most cases are split, torn and worn out with frayed edges etc.
This one is just perfect. Not one crease anywhere and the opening edge is as perfect as the day it was slipped over the sleeve.
The non laminated sleeve is in the same perfect state. again I have seen many of these that have suffred squashed spines and creased covers, but this one is as good as you would want it. If you look really really hard you can make out a couple of little lines near the bottom edge, but that is all.
The inner sleeve for those not in the know is a "magic Paint" inner. What I mean is that if the inner sleeve gets wet at all, the colur hidden underneath starts to come through, therefore you will find many copies that have been "painted" by having water brushed accross them, but worse than that is the spotted painted inners. These are the most frustrtrating ones of all to find because they have only turned colour where the owner has handled them with moist fingers. This one with this set it totally immaculate and unspoiled in any way at all.
As I mentioned before the actual record was removed from the inner sleeve and the outer sleeve and kept seperate in a poly lined bag. The sleev was kept inside the outer sleeve which was kept in the paper bag which was housed in a plastic cover. The Lp sat behind the bag inside the plastic cover.Is that clear??as Mud probably
The Vinyl
as usual my first test is to pump the volume up looking for any signs of distortion caused by worn grooves. There is none. Incidentally the LP shines like new, and the only traces of handling marks can be seen under intense illumination and none under normal daylight.
There is a miniscule amount of background noise when the stylus is first introduced to the LP, but this soon dissapears, and the crstal clear production of this LP shines through.
Incredible clarity and i am happy to grade the vinyl NMINT
