Matrix nos:  A side – 588171 A//1 Mothers 1 2  1 4 B Side - 588171 B//1  Mothers 1 3( SUPER EARLY PRESSING) On both sides the second '8' has been scratched out and replaced with a hand etched '8'
I'm aware that the few initial copies had turquoise lettering on the cover and within a matter of weeks this was replaced with orange lettering.
However I believe that in nearly every other respect this example has most of the characteristics of a first press of Led Zeppelin 1:

Condition of Vinyl: EX. Both surfaces retain their original deep glossy sheen with no dulling. 
There are lots of hairline surface marks.  However you need to know that none of these have any significant audible impact. 
Remember i am grading my records under a very strong light. This is a  GREAT copy!!!
LABELS: The labels are in great condition. Check photos.
I found no major audio issues of note - no scratches and no grove-wear or distortion.  Plays with some very, very light surface noise at times on the run-ins and some of the quietest passages (but nothing I found in the slightest intrusive). 
It is amazing to hear, for example, Babe I'm gonna leave you with hardly any light surface noise
Plays great throughout , easily like an EX+ and sounds absolutely sensational.
This is an absolute gem of a record!!!. Beautiful!!!   No jumps or skips.
Condition of Cover: EX+ or slightly better. AMAZING!!!!!
The  laminated sleeve is in BEAUTIFUL condition, the best i have ever seen. 
There is very, very light wear, a few very light creases. 
The inner sleeve is in great condition .
There are two spots where the lamination is very slightly lifted. Nothing serious though.
The spine is practically perfect.

I think that it will be very, very hard to find a better copy of this cover and what a beautiful match.
This is an absolute gem!!!!

GRADING:

All records are graded using the UK ‘Record Collector’ format:

MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. 

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. 

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

PACKAGING INFORMATION:

LPs and singles will be sent in a record mailing envelope and will be protected by two cardboard stiffeners.

RETURNS POLICY:
