Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin

SSK 89400 record set 2 LPs

Release date 1975 in Stereo

Swan song labels in MINT condition. Soft textured first issue label format. Joaneline music credits. NO Warners logos which make this THE VERY FIRST issue of a sensational Zepp album. Later pressings had the W logo on labels. NO spider lines detected on these labels which make them oh so rare with a virtually UNPLAYED history! Unfaded and undamaged ,these first issue labels appear magnificent against the jet black of the vinyls .

Sleeve printed by Gothic Print Finishers, London. Later album covers do not have this endorsement and are made of much thinner card manufacture .Absolutely awesome first issue, die cut sleeve with each window edge, clean cut and well defined ,on this delicate and intricate outer casing with no damage at all. Many are found ripped and torn with massive edge wear but this is an excellent+ album cover, with the lightest of corner/wear and faint rubbing on edges, hardly visible to the naked eye. At least excellent+ grading assessment .

The inner white card is near mint ,with a much thicker feel than the later thinner format. Kings Road text confirming the earliest first issue sleeve .  The thicker, picture card, inner sleeves are near perfect with no seam splits and are much more robust than the flimsier and thinner later issues.

Matrices show a VERY early FIRST issue on offer here,

A 1 /B 4/ C1/ D 1,possibly the first to roll off the factory press.

Vinyls

Sensational visual appearance- wonderful sheen and  thick quality pressings . NEAR MINT visual. Under a very strong light , a couple of extremely faint surface marks, hardly visible on one side, otherwise, completely unmarked and appear factory fresh, as if only just pressed yesterday! Amazing visual. The mirror like glaze, from each surface ,reflects a staggering sheen and must be one of the best examples in existence today of this awesome Zeppelin rock classic.

Audio

Absolutely near MINT delivery. No distortion .No skips. No jumps. No ticks or clicks….No surface disturbance of any kind and clear channels virtually throughout the entire two sides. The first pressed craftsmanship and loud cut engineering is phenomenal, when comparing the audio to later reissues, which are far inferior with no depth of sound .Tones are beautifully delivered from this first UK pressing, with a tremendous depth of sound and each tone is clearly defined, with a mellow warmth, like no other. Thick quality press with the wider, first pressed grooves, make this audio one of the best ever heard from this Zeppelin classic.

Summary

If you find these albums claiming to be first presses with Warners credits, then I am afraid they are not!! This is however a true, genuine very first UK press with the earliest possible matrices, the first pressed Swansong labels without Warner logos, the earliest thick chunky, heavyweight vinyls in nr mint condition, a beautifully maintained first issue boxed sleeve with all inserts near perfect ,and a sensational audio, from this very first pressed cut, of this HUGE Led Zeppelin release.

Absolutely superb in every respect, and will have trouble tracking down the next one of these as they are becoming more and more difficult to locate nowadays especially in this awesome condition!
