Description

Hello there

For sale from my collection is an original Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti early pressing double LP.

The sleeves for this record are absolutely superb and I would grade as excellent.  The thick card die cast outer sleeve looks absolutely fantastic after all these years with just some minor edgewear and a few light folds on the closest of inspections.  The rear is also in excellent condition with the smallest half tear below two of the windows but the artwork is still complete.  All in all really superb.

The inner sleeves and window template are in excellent condition also, no marks rips or tears.  The inner sleeves have the catalogue number followed by /A or /B on the back (bottom right corner) indicating an early pressing.  Later issues were thinner card, some smooth inside, later still they were just thick paper.

The record matrices are Side 1A1,Side 2 B5, Side 3 C1, Side 4 D1 with number SSK 89400 again indicate one of the earliest pressings.  Side 2 is an anomaly for some reason as this most often appears with B4 or B5 on early pressings.

The record labels and spindles are all in excellent. The labels do not feature the Warner Black Ball Logo.  This is another indication of this record being one of the earliest pressings because when this album was first pressed the Warner ‘black ball’ logo had not been ‘installed’ as a feature at the end of the bottom perimeter text - so it is definitely not there on genuine early pressings. This logo does feature on later pressings and re-issues.

I grade my records strictly and I would describe the record playing surface as in good condition.  There are various hairline scratches on each of the sides under strong light.  I have however listened to the whole album at regular intervals and could not hear any problems with it.  I also listened to the whole recording of Kashmir and could not detect any pops or jumps and made for fantastic listening.

All in all an absolutely superb copy of this early pressing of Physical Grafitti and would make a great Christmas present for any Led Zeppelin fan or collector.

To sum up an early Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti LP in overall super condition with excellent outer and inner covers, excellent labels and spindles and good surface condition of the record.

Please feel free to ask me any questions, check out my feedback and other items for sale and thank you very much for looking.
