Description

If you're looking for perfection... you came knocking on the right door!
The 1990 remaster TRIPLE available in the UK market. Matrix 2A/3B/2C/2D/1E/2F Label design and production is all perfectly inline with what you would expect at 1st press autumn 1990. The triple vinyl comes housed in a fold-out gatefold. Also included are all three bespoke quality black inners. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+/Ex+/Ex+) No kidding...this is "as good as it gets". The vinyl have clearly seen the lightest of use - across all six sides. The labels show precious little evidence of use - and the surfaces are like mirrors. Under close inspection I struggled to make out more than a couple of very superficial marks - nothing remotely troublesome. WOWZERS this is one hell of a copy - I think I'm correct in saying "I have not witnessed better". A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playing with a couple of slight deviations. Just to qualify that statement.... Ex+ is the highest obtainable standard. And this copy manages this standard consistently across six sides [99%]. Think about it for a moment.... what are the chances of that? So, is it all looks and mild disappointment when the needle drops? Thankfully, this copy actually delivers the audio that the "look" might suggest. I've witnessed many a decent red and plum original Zeppelin. I know how good a top copy can sound. And this remaster is acing it - in all the right areas. Most importantly it plays super clean. An easy way to dip in quickly and detect whether you have a great copy is to go straight to 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You'. This a truly tricky track to find playing well on ANY COPY. And this copy delivers it with a perfectly quiet background. This is, in reality, a very difficult find. The result is that this copy will deliver the track with maximum atmosphere, and only when it plays truly clean. Expect this sort of level of performance throughout. Into the quiet areas, the slow-builds, etc etc. Just a perfectly quiet background and bold precise audio delivery. The opening bars of 'Dazed And Confused' with the weird and wacky effects - CLEAN. Ever heard 'NO QTR' - with an actual perfectly quiet background? It doesn't happen that often! - and it sounds truly marvellous. EVERMORE - "PERFECT". "STAIRWWAY" - even on that super fussy intro....a PERFECTLY clean background... complete silence [possibly never heard it like that before]. All I could detect were a couple of light/slight ticks in one solitary spot. And a few crackles in the intro to 'Achilles' - which are over quickly as the track kicks in for real. A couple of minor crackles in the low-frequency-rumble intro to 'Evening'. But that's all. It is certainly the most consistent player I've witnessed. On a good system this example will sound great....and on a great system??? FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) Given the triple fold-out nature of this release it's not as easy as you might think to find a properly decent looking copy. But, again, the original owner was clearly a careful fastidious type. A very clean front and rear with only the lightest signs of handling. Edge wear is minimal and the openings still sharpish. The spine is looking awesome - few look this well preserved. The interior is immaculate in all areas. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A very fine specimen.
Inners (Ex+) All present in top condition. Without any splits.
