PRODUCT INFORMATION:

Title: Led Zeppelin

Number: SD 8216  Matrix/Runout: Side 1: ST-A-681461-PR-3S  Side 2: ST-A-681462-PR-4S

Condition: Album play-tested, sounds excellent, solid VG++. Very Rare Purple/Brown Atlantic Records Label. Album Cover is VG; spine has 3 inch seam split, bottom seam is taped in 2 spots; slight stain discoloration and bubbling on front cover.

Additional Details:  Purple/Brown Stereo labels were only produced on Atlantic releases that were pressed at RCA Records Pressing plant in Indianapolis. Some say these issues are "club" issues but no proof on release. Others feel that these were created from stock Atco labels to fill the need. "Club" or press error, a very rare label, This label is rare and only appeared on a few titles from around #8130 to #8200. The Led Zeppelin album error commands premium prices, since not only is the label an error, but side 1 of the album is a different mix from the regular pressing; Also side 2 sounds a little different from the standard issue. There is a long pause between "Black Mountain Side" and "Communication Breakdown", where the standard issue had no silence at all. And there is an unusually long silence between "Communication Breakdown" and "I Can't Quit You Baby", much longer than was on the standard issue.
