Description
This is a copy of Paramount 12865 by Lee Green (as "L. Green" on the label), recorded by Gennett in Richmond, Indiana on September 7, 1929 (although recorded by Gennett, this was only released on Paramount). This is one of the first records by Green, who accompanies himself on piano. The songs are "Down on Death Alley Blues" and "Five Minute Blues." Condition is V- (78 grading) with a chip out of the edge that takes out the first 10 grooves or so (see photo). Apart from the edge chip, the record plays well and is still enjoyable. Paramounts from 1929 and later are exceedingly hard to find in any condition - why else would I auction a record with a chip out? I have run many auctions over the past 22 years and have never had a single complaint on my grading or shipping methods, so bid with confidence! Winner to pay actual shipping cost, via media mail or Priority Mail, your choice. I will ship within 24 hours if paid by Money Order, payment by personal check requires two week wait for check to clear. I will notify winner by email shortly after the auction closes, please do not use eBay checkout.
