Description
Original yellow label with dark blue text. Deep groove, pressing on vinylite plastic. Lee Konitz, alto sax on all 8 tracks. Side A, The Konitz Quintet also includes Warne Marsh, tenor sax; Sal Mosca, piano; Arnold Fishkin, bass; Denzil Best, drums on 4 tracks. On Side B, The Lennie Tristano Quintet includes leader, Tristano, piano; Billy Bauer, guitar; Konitz, alto sax; Fishkin, bass; Shelly Manne, drums. Rare edition.
Cover: VG Intact. Name of previous owner is written in small print near the bottom of the front cover. Plain blue back cover (see scan). Slight corner wear. Light overall aging with a few light rub marks on the back cover. 2" scotch tape on the spine appears to be for protection rather thank repair. There is some light wear on the spine, no paper loss. Original price is written on the top margin of the back cover.
Record: VG+ Visually shows light wear with several light surface rub marks, no scratches. On Side A, Tracks 1 and 2 have groove noise for 1 or 2 revolutions near the beginning of the Tracks with some additional groove noise for 2 or 3 revolutions at the end of Track 2. On Track 3, there are 4 or 5 clicks followed by 1 faint click and on Track 4, 2 clicks. On Side B, some groove noise on the first several revolutions on Track 1, faint groove noise for 1 revolution during the piano solo on Track 2. On Track 3, faint groove noise for less than 1 revolution and 3 faint clicks, barely audible. On Track 4, barely audible groove noise on 2 or 3 revolutions with 1 revolution of barely audible groove noise mid Track followed by 2 or 3 light clicks. I believe that I have completely detailed the noise. There is no general surface noise just the specific noise described. The overall quality if very good in spite of the limited noise. Audibly checked.
