Lee Mi-Ja, also known as Yi Mi-Ja (Hangul: ???) is a South Korean Trot singer who rose to popularity in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
Trot Music is a genre of Korean Pop Music and is recognized as the oldest form of Korean Pop Music.
Formulated in the early 1900s, Trot Music was influenced by Western and Korean popular music.
Trot Music is also known as Yuhaengga, Ppongjjak, and most recently Teuroteru.
Teuroteru is the Korean pronunciation of the word 'Trot' which is short for 'Foxtrot'.
Trot Queen Lee Mi-Ja won the hearts and minds of Korean audiences with her powerful unique voice and charming personality. During the 1960s Lee Mi-Ja was the most popular Korean Pop Singer in South Korea.
Lee Mi-Ja released 500 record albums in South Korea with over 2000 songs.
Her most famous hit songs include:

"Innocence of Nineteen"
"Crying Wind"
"Womans' Life"
Lee Mi-Ja was the first Korean Singer to perform at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts.
In 2003, at the invitation of North Korea, Lee Mi-Ja performed at the Grand Theater of the Eastern Pacific in Pyongyang, becoming the first South Korean singer to perform in North Korea.
