This is an auction of a very rare Blue Note ORIGINAL JAZZ CLASSIC - Lee Morgan - Candy - ORIGINAL 33 1/3 Microgroove Long Playing labels BLUE NOTE 1590 MONO with the 47 WEST 63rd address and DG deep groove labels with no registered trademark symbol ® (indicates first pressing) on both sides. Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder - with an "ear" like mark and 'RVG" stamped in the deadwax trailoff of both sides. A great sublime jazz classic and Blue Note rarity - a must for any serious Blue Note collector. Lee Morgan Sonny Clark Doug Watkins Art Taylor - a great Bop gem of a record with sublime performances. Record has been played completely after 2 cleanings with a VPI professional record cleaner. Record is VISUALLY graded as SIDE 1 = VG+ with small amount of light hairlines and single light scuff, SIDE 2 = VG++ with less light hairlines and slight spindle wear - record PLAY GRADES VG++ to Mint- with vibrant enjoyable sound - some faint quiet background crackles on some tracks and just about none on others. Cover presents VG++ well from the front but is VG+ overall due to wear at the lower right corner including a small spot seen on back of cover slick paper loss at the lower left corner and slight wear on the back left side opening edge.
