Artist: Lee Morgan Album: Candy Color: Black Catalog #: BLP 1590 Country: USA Notes: Original microgroove w/ 47 West 63rd address, deep groove, RVG, and ear in dead wax.
GRADING RECORD- This has been cleaned by a VPI Visually Side 1 has only a couple of surface marks but is mostly clean. Most notable is one mark across that is light and does not affect play. Side 2 has a few more marks that I'd grade visually at VG-. On track 1 "All The Way" there is a smudge that goes from the beginning to halfway through the track. The needle plays through.
Play Grade Side 1 plays VG+. Nice warm sound to kick introduce the side and plays nice throughout. Only a couple of times are there the slightest hint of background noise. Side 2- VG to VG-. There is one pop at the end of Track 1 "All The Way" that plays through. "Who Do You Love" plays w/ the most background noise of the album but it does not overpower the record.
SLEEVE- Strong VG+. There is a small oil stain on the back below "High Fidelity" and less noticeably above the middle candy jar near the top. Otherwise the corners, edges, and opens are all excellent and strong.
The record plays really well, better than it shows. This would be a proud piece in any rare jazz collector's library.
SHIPPING- This record will go out priority w/ insurance due to the value.
