The one thing everybody would say is that they come with a message — and that the annointing of the choir is experienced by all who listen. These days the American gospel market is saturated with groups that come and go and change during their career. The Southernaires are different. As one reflects on their 24 years of ministry, one sees a consistency of purpose, direction and music- al ministry The Southernaires have not changed; rather, they are more annointed as they have yeilded to the Holy Spirit. It's a refreshing experience to meet the Southernaires in a day when we are beset with problems and unrest in a world of crisis. Their music-testimony adds purpose to the Christian life and a challenge to the nonbeliever as well as hope in the soon-coming Jesus Christ. Their concerts are a moving experience -- especially their testimonies. Whether on Sunday at Lenoir Community Church or ministering in a prison, rest home or county fair, they do make an impact. Now and then the Christian world needs to hear the gospel as only a group like the South- ernaires and Coronation Quartet can present it - pure and simple.
