On offer here a new series of Rare, Prized, Late Edition Mono disks pairing great orchestras and even greater soloists. Including this Super-Fine, Original Angel-EMI UK-Made Disk. Hear the amazing Leonid Kogan circa 1957 on the cusp of his astounding Debut in the West when he met rapturous critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic as one of the great concert violinists of any century. Performances here include a masterly, incisive take on the great Prokofiev Concerto No. 2, in G-Minor and one of the very sweetest, most poised, and insightful interpretations of the Mozart Concerto No. 3 ever set to Vinyl--or to any other medium! Disk here is the very heavy-gauge vinyl Angel-EMI reissue (1961) of an original UK Columbia recording dated 1957. Angel Disk spindle label states "Made in England" giving original Columbia Disk Serial Nos. and Angel (US) Serial No. 35344. Angel Disk deadwax mechanically stamped 4N (Side A) and 2N (Side B). Thus Earliest Pressings of the Reissue from the original Mono masters. Visual inspection under brightest light shows disk appears near-flawless retaining a high-gloss vinyl sheen on both sides. Only the very faintest hairlines (1 Side A, 2 Side B) entirely inaudible on playback via Audiophile-Grade turntables. Vinyl still easily Near-Mint. Play grading shows very low surface noise and super-fine Mono sound rather extraordinary for the era and given the disk's age. A very few quite intermittent ticks here and there but nothing at all to diminish the amazing fire and elan of these celebrated recordings. Jacket is Near-Mint as well. Not a Cut-Out. Still Bright faces, all seams intact. No Marks and Perfect. Dowel-Spine original Angel plastic-lined paper sleeve. A superlative, certainly collectible copy of a core disk in this very great violinist's core oeuvre.
