Description
This is a primo first pressing of Mercury Records mono MG 20805 I'll Cry if I Want To by Lesley Gore. The sleeve has no bends, tears, scuffs, seam wear, or ring wear. The top- and bottom left corners show extremely minimal wear (most would overlook it; look carefully at the photos). Note in the photo also that the sleeve does NOT bear the hype blurb for "It's My Party" (the LP is more valuable without it). The original inner sleeve's bottom seam has been split by the record (about 85mm), and at its top right corner the front and side edges have separated (about 35mm). The vinyl is beautiful. A visual grading would tempt a person to pull out the ol' Mint paddle, but we all know that's verboten. Still, it's got the shiny gloss of a brand new record, with no marks, scratches, scuffs, wear of any kind that I can see. No writing, marks, or spindle wear on the label (this is where I remind you that this is a 60-year-old record that was produced at the height of the record changer era). The vinyl plays NM, and to listen to it is an absolute pleasure. I'm certain that you'll not find a cleaner, nicer copy of this 60-year-old record than this. Goldmine values it at 30.00, as does Osborne (17th Ed.). Discogs shows its current highest market value to be 24.27. I'm confident that this copy would fetch top value in all three systems. I note also that a copy with a "Good" sleeve sold for 35.00 on eBay earlier this month---not nearly the pristine condition of this one. Don't let this slip away. [As a bonus, I ship very quickly, and I package a record like I was shipping it to myself. I love and respect vinyl.]
