Here I have for sale the British-only release of the 1974 album, 'The Young Generation', an album of popular hits performed by the song and dance troupe that featured on BBC TV in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

TV shows they appeared on included: Meanwhile on BBC2 (1971); Show of the Week: Vera Lynn (1971); Engelbert with The Young Generation (1972); They Sold A Million (1973 and 1974); Ken Dodd's World Of Laughter (1974); and The Vera Lynn Show (1973-74).

All the numbers were choreographed by Dougie Squires and the group was often fronted by Lesley Judd, who later went on to host Blue Peter.

Condition (refer also to notes at bottom):
Vinyl – VG-EX. Looks clean on visual inspection. Six or so long light hairlines on side A and a few short light hairline scuffs on side B. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is very good. Vocals are bright and clean. Very slight static through some quieter sections and between some cues. Overall, a superb listen.
Outer sleeve (Cover) – G-VG. Colours remain vibrant and unfaded. Superb gloss front. Some minor edge wear and vein-like creases. Corners are scuffed, nicked and there are few small dents/creases on front. Aperture shows mild damage. Reverse is somewhat discoloured, mainly around the disc outline and some soiling is present along bottom and top edges. Inner edge of spine sellotape band is a little soiled. Overall, intact and very good.
Inner sleeve – G-VG. Original. Off-white paper with central label hole. Some folds and creases and small tears/nicks but remains intact.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
