Let's Hear It for Robin Hood with Louis Prima Sam Butera and the Witnesses, 3339, Buena Vista
Here's a rare Disney record released in 1974 featuring singer Louis Prima perfoming with Sam Butera and the Witnesses as they record the music from Disney's 1973 animated film Robin Hood.
Following his work recording That Darn Cat, Mary Poppins, and the Winnie the Pooh theme, Prima hit it bigtime as the voice of King Louis in The Jungle Book.
Here he performs the Floyd Huddleston songs from Robin Hood, familiar tunes like Phony King of England, and Love, with music by George Bruns, Floyd Huddleston, and Johnny Mercer.
Interestingly, though, there are other songs by Huddleston about Robin Hood not featured in the final film, so perhaps some of these were unused songs originally intended for the film, including "Merry Men" and "Friar Tuck."
It's pretty interesting to hear a familiar Jungle Book voice singing Robin Hood songs in modern 1970s stereo.
The front cover has art of Prima and Robin Hood and a color photo and his bio on the back with the animated characters. The liner notes record the fact that he was scheduled to be a voice in the early development of The Rescuers; however, not long after finishing this album, Prima became ill and never recuperated.
Very rare 1970s Disney Vista record!

The record is in very good condition, clean and nice. The cover is good, minor storage wear; free of writing, tears, or marks.
