Description

The Library Of Congress Recording Laboratory – Archive of American Folk Songs, numbers  AAFS 96 and AAFS 97 – presuming sold as a pair (and/or possibly part of a still larger release): 12" diameter; thick VINYL (yes - with a little bit of flex) 78 RPM's, 8 songs in total. These may have been released circa 1951, but don't quote me on that. It looks like this series started being released on LP in 1952 -but unknown if everything got released in Both formats. I have a 2-sided information sheet, but it only describes the tracks on disc 1. Performers are Jimmy Denoon (Visalia, CA recorded 1941), Booth Campbell (Cane Hill, AR 1942), Bascomb Lamar Lunsford (who had a lengthy career) (Swannanoa, NC 1946), Henry King & Family, and Russ Pike (last two Visalia 1941).

Both records are VG+ condition and played through without problems of note (using a 78 needle). Any other Original packaging is gone, replaced by temporary sleeves.
