Description
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to own an original, ALL-ANALOG and FANTASTIC SOUNDING MASTERPIECE. These classic folk/blues tunes were originally on 78 and 45 singles.
Machine-cleaned vinyl, carefully handled and play-graded. Visually graded VG+++ and plays VG+++ with almost no detectable surface noise. When it's audible, it's VERY low level and usually brief, and only on a few portions. VERY clean sounding vinyl! Clean multi-color labels (not the first or second pressing black labels). Deep groove label. Jacket is VG due to some small stretches of neat Scotch Magic Tape repair.
This appears to be an early re-pressing from Herald, with dead-wax runout-groove matrix information that's almost identical to the black label first and second pressings that go for insane amounts of money. I entered this runout groove data in the item specifics,
but here it is below, for your convenience:
Bottom seam is mostly intact with incipient seam-splitting. Spine is mostly split, top edge is splitting near the spine. MOST of the front laminate is clean and glossy with only one light scratch in the upper right corner. Back side has some light / faded magic marker writing "ALL RELEASED HERE AS SINGLES" and a previous owner's name in ball-point ink. See photos.
The entire matrix number / dead-wax run-out-groove etchings and stamped numbers, in the order they appear along the run-out grove are:
LW HLP 1012-A Δ 2379 b/w LW HLP 1012-B Δ 2379cX
LW is etched "sideways" and is a mastering/plating ID for Longwear Plating which was in N.Y.'s Long Island City in the early 1960s. They plated and manufactured stampers for MANY different record companies, large and small.
This LP will be "double-boxed" using a fresh LP standard mailer inside of a fresh 13" x 13" x 2" mailer for extra protection and especially to prevent any corner bending in transit.
