Description
Up for bid is an original US pressing of Lightnin' Hopkins Strums the Blues, released on the Score label and cataloged SLP-4022. This album represents one of the finest Texas blues men in an amazing recording. The copy for your consideration is an authentic original first pressing, featuring the original maroon Score labels, indicating that it is a deep-groove pressing.
Unfortunately, the front and back of the jacket have completely seperated. As can be seen in the pictures, the overall wear on the front and back of the jacket is not terrible. There are some indications of ring wear and even though in two pieces, the corners on the jacket remain in good shape. Luckily, the cover was never taped back together, so there is no unsightly discoloration or damage from tape. The vinyl is in amazing condition considering its age, grading conservatively on the higher side VG++, play-graded on a quality turntable with a new stylus. The quality of the microgroove pressing cannot be understated. There are some light surface marks on the play surface, but playback remains crisp.
