Description
Up for auction is this copy of "Walkin' This Road By Myself" by Lightnin' Hopkins. It is the Prestige/Bluesville pressing (PR-1057) with silver print and trident logo on blue labels and is in very good plus (VG+) condition. The jacket has a small amount of wear around the seams and spine with a small split forming at the top left corner being the most noticeable damage. There is some light ring wear on the front cover near the bottom and some light ring wear on the back of the cover near the top. Otherwise, there are no punch holes, cut outs, or corner cuts. There is no writing and there are no stamps on the front or back of the jacket (see photos). I give the jacket a strong VG grade (close to VG+). The deep-groove record is pressed on beautiful thick vinyl with only a few small superficial marks that do not affect play in any major way (no skips, sticks, heavy clicks or pops, just some light static mostly between songs). The record still has most of its original shine and luster. I give side A a strong VG grade (close to VG+) and side B a VG+ grade (it sounds a little better than side A). The labels are in excellent (EX, or VG++) condition with just a few light spindle marks; no writing, tears, or discoloration (see photos). The initials RVG (Rudy Van Gelder) are in the dead wax on both sides, making this a superior copy to later re-pressings (Rudy Van Gelder was a legendary recording engineer who mixed and mastered albums for labels like Blue Note, Prestige, and Verve).
