This vintage Lightning Hopkins LP has a few lights skiffles/scuffs/surface scratches which do not diminish or interfere with the recording. Minimal to no crackles or pops (on my turn-table anyway) and the sound is awesome 1950's style. Recorded in mono, a most excellent recording with the old style echo sound. The recordings are from 1950 and 1951 and this pressing is 1963 by Realm /Oreole RM128 Mono. Good medium to heavyweight vinyl, no warps, the cover is worn with creases back and front & the record comes with the original plastic in paper sleeve, which is aged and a bit torn. Fabulous album and a great sound, early Hopkins, buyer should not be disappointed.

From back cover "This collection of 12 raw sides which were made in Houston around 1950 and 1951, show Lightnin' at his vocal best singing among his own people. The voice was more salty then, than it is today, the effect less pretentious."
