Offering up a great copy of “Linda McCartney & Wings” only album - Wide Prairie - (My Best Copy)

This is an original 1998 first pressing, not a pre-order for the soon to be re-release.

The condition of this album is crisp all around.

The cover is bright and solid with no seam issues or wear. All four edges are straight and un-frayed with a strong spine (this cover is known to wear very easily, especially around the edges, due to the type of softer parchment that was used to give the cover a softness when looking at it).

The delicate, folded insert is as new as when first printed.

The blue tinted custom inner sleeve is vivid with the only wear being found at the point where the record edge has rubbed during initial shipping. This is something I have observed in every copy that has passed through my hands. I’ve kept the vinyl in a new sleeve since first opening it to avoid any additional wear.

The vinyl is in like new condition being cared for meticulously since ‘98. There is some low level background noise at the very beginning of each side. This is present on ALL the copies I’ve ever listened to, even several sealed copies that were opened and played immediately. A possible issue at the pressing plant would be my best guess. After a few seconds of slight crackle at the beginning of each side, the remaining grooves play flawlessly (on this copy). Better than most, if not all, of the copies I’ve been able to play-test I’m glad to say.

The labels are clean and spindle mark free.

Above I mentioned the scheduled re-release of this album and I’ve always wondered why it wasn’t done years ago. This is the true ‘Lost McCartney Album’ (in my opinion) and belongs in any run of Paul McCartney studio albums. It is Linda doing the lead vocals with Paul and Wings doing everything else you hear when you drop the needle. Plainly stated “it’s as much a Wings album as any other” says I.

If you do need to add this title in order to fill that void in your McCartney studio album section on the record shelf, here’s a really good and complete copy that will never have to be upgraded.
