Description

LITTLE EVA – “LLLLLoco-Motion”
Label: Dimension – DLP 6000
Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Mono
Country: USA
Released: 1962
Genre: Pop, Rock, Soul
Style: Brill Building Pop / Early 60’s Girl-Pop 💿 DESCRIPTION Original U.S. first mono pressing (1962) of Little Eva’s debut LP — a cornerstone of early 60’s New York pop and the Brill Building sound.
Produced by Gerry Goffin for Nevins-Kirshner, featuring timeless King–Goffin classics “The Loco-Motion”, “Keep Your Hands Off My Baby”, “Sharing You”, “He Is the Boy”, and covers of “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”, “Uptown”, and “Some Kind-A Wonderful.”
Arrangements by Carole King and Claude Ogerman, orchestra conducted by King herself.
The back cover includes full liner notes, Kirshner’s dated Beverly Hills note (Aug. 1, 1962), and complete track credits — typical of the earliest Dimension layout.
Pressed at Bell Sound Studios (NYC), mastered by Sam Feldman (sf). 💎 CONDITION VINYL: VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) COVER: EXCELLENT (EX)
(Strong, vibrant colors; light edge wear typical for age. Back cover crisp with all text clearly visible; no major splits or writing.) 🧾 NOTES FOR COLLECTORS

  • Early Bell Sound mastering “Bell Sound sf” etched in both runouts — a hallmark of 1962 first issue.

  • Matrix numbers:

    • Side A: 6000-A (1)

    • Side B: #6000-B-2

  • First press features “A Division of Nevins-Kirshner Assoc., Inc.” along bottom rim, and Aldon Music, Inc. (BMI) publishing with exception of “I Have A Love” (ASCAP).

  • Subsequent pressings (mid-60s) use altered rim text or omit Bell Sound marks — this copy retains all first-issue identifiers.

  • Issued in mono only for the first release; stereo came slightly later as DLP-6000-S with different mixes.
