RECORD: visual VG- but play grades VG+

NOTES: 1974 US very rare original (reported to be a 200 pressing per Archivist book). Cover looks nice on front; there is some seam wear on top and a water damage stain at bottom corner (mildew spots on back cover from this - see photo). Under bright light, the record appears covered with many light hairline marks; however, none are feelable and record plays really nice VG+ or better. I don't think the hairlines are from prior play - possibly related to a prior owner cleaning attempt or maybe interaction with a prior inner sleeve.

GRADES: SEALED, NM, EXC, VG+, VG, VG-, G, FAIR, POOR.

I grade strictly under bright light. My highest grade for an unsealed record is NM (NEAR MINT) - a record must look like new to be graded NM! An EXC record will show only slight signs of prior play. A VG+ is a solid used record that should play well but has minor visual flaws. A VG has more obvious flaws BUT is not trashed. Records graded VG- or worse will often play much better than they look.
