Lizzie Miles Sharkey ORIG OZ LP Night in old New Orleans NM ’58 Capitol Jazz
Original OZ 1st Press LP released in 1958 on the Aqua and Silver Capitol Records Label. Cat: T792. This album is in MONO.Over the next few weeks I will be listing some wonderful Jazz titles from a recently acquired Jazz collection. The original owner passed away back in 1985 and his sister decided to hold onto them for sentimental reasons. She had not touched or played them since then (1985!!). The records are in stunning condition for their age many, apart from a few light age spots on the covers, look like they walked off the shelf yesterday. I hope you enjoy viewing and possibly purchasing these wonderful jazz vinyl artifacts as much as i have in preparing them for sale and listening to them!!
During the 1949-53 period, trumpeter Sharkey Bonano recorded several albums worth of material for Capitol. This LP is drawn from six different sessions, but has similar-styled personnel, with Bonano joined by either Santa Pecora, Charles Miller, Jack Delaney or Jimmy Blount on trombone, Lester Bouchon or Bujie Centobie on clarinet, and a fine rhythm section with either Jeff Riddick or Stan Mendelson on piano. Co-leading the album is veteran singer Lizzie Miles, who is on five of the 12 numbers, including "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" and "Salty Dog." Bonano is in fine form on a set mostly consisting of Dixieland standards.
There are a few very light spindle marks on labels. Record is in pristine shape and in Near MInt condition. Thick Gloss UK Import Gloss cover with cutaway back flaps has a few tiny surface tears around edges and is in Excellent condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
Post methods within Australia: All records are posted via Australia Post. Within Australia all items come with a tracking number.
Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
