London CS 6049, GRIEG, Peer Gynt Incidental Music, Oiven Fjeldstad, London Symphony Orchestra, 6D/2E, blueback, ffss pressing. This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old, ffss pressing.  This is one of the most highly praised and sought after of all the early London’s.  It is rated 19 out of 20 by Moon and Gray and deservedly so - the sound is rich, full and detailed with a very big stage, wonderful hall sound, and powerful bass. This copy looks and plays virtually new.  I cannot find anything wrong with it.  The vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy, and EXCEPTIONALLY quiet with NO pops, clicks, tics, or skips - it is dead quiet, with NO marks whatsoever. The vinyl looks and plays near mint.  The labels look new – probably played once (see photos).  The jacket looks new and grades NM. There are no seam splits or any other defects. The inner sleeve is has some very slight yellowing from age, so I will grade it NM-. In summary, this is a near mint copy of this wonderful golden age recording.
