Long John Baldry and the Hoochie Coochie Men. “YOU’LL BE MINE + UP ABOVE MY HEAD I HEAR MUSIC IN THE AIR “

featuring ROD STEWART’s, 1st EVER RECORDING on the ‘B’ side.

This is a 45 rpm of Long John Baldrey and the Hoochie Coochie Men from June 1964. The ‘A’ side is a great song “You’ll Be Mine” which doesn’t feature Rod. However, he features strongly as backup singer on the ‘B’ side, “Up Above My Head I hear Music in the Air”. Altogether a great pair of songs in the classic UK R& B style of the early 1960’s.

One of my early 45 single purchases after being so impressed watching Baldrey along with the Cyril Davies band at Eel Pie island, New Year’s Eve 1963 and subsequent events with both these artists when they were in ‘Steam Packet’

“...............Baldry touted Stewart's abilities to Melody Maker magazine and the group enjoyed a weekly residence at London's fabled Marquee Club.[53] In June 1964, Stewart made his recording début (without label credit) on "Up Above My Head", the B-side to a Baldry and Hoochie Coochie Men single............”

Condition is "Used". However, the record is in excellent condition with, I believe, the original UA cover.
