Double vinyl LP pressing housed in a gatefold sleeve with gold metallic ink and printed sleeves.  Third Man Records is proud to announce the forthcoming releases of Leon Redbone's Long Way From Home, the never-before-released earliest known recordings of the mysterious performer.  Redbone's career has spanned over four decades and began with his earliest performances on the folk festival and club circuit.  His numerous appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Saturday Night Live and other outlets catalyzed his rise to international recognition.  Over the ensuing years he has appeared throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Japan and released thirteen albums of his unique music, a panoply of early music styles that he delivered with his singular laconic idiosyncratic style.  A true champion of early American ragtime, blues and jazz, Leon Redbone has spent a lifetime preserving that musical tradition while exposing successive generations to a rich musical heritage of which they might not otherwise have become aware.  Recorded in 1972 by Dave Benders for WBFO Radio at the University of Buffalo and features some of the first Leon Redbone recordings.

Third Man's aptly named Long Way from Home: Early Recrodings gathers up some of the earliest known studio sessions from the enigmatic Canadian-American singer/songwriter.  Recorded in 1972 at University of Buffalo's WBFO radio by Dave Benders, the 18-track set, released in 2016, arrived on the heels of Redbone's retirement from public life.  Comprised of eight live cuts and ten studio tracks, Long Way Home sees Redbone delivering a rawer, more traditionally blues-based set of material that lacks the refinement of his 1975 debut, but still crackles with the theatricality and droll nostalgia that would come to define him later on.  In addition to Long Way Home.  Third Man also released an exclusive vinyl reissue of Redbone's acclaimed Warner debut, On the Track. ~ James Christopher Monger, AllMusic

• Items defective upon receipt must be packaged in their retail packaging as if new and returned with a detailed description of the problem.
• To qualify for a refund, the product must be UNOPENED and returned within 30 days of checkout.  Goods must be returned in the original box, in perfect condition, unused, no seals broken and with no missing parts.
