Description
Both labels have the address 47 West 63rd St. NYC; the bottom of the back cover has the address 43 West 61st St., New York 23. Deep groove on both sides of the record. The record has the "ear" and "RVG" inscribed in the dead wax. 7 tracks. Leader, Lou Donaldson, alto sax; Bill Hardman, trumpet; Horace Parlan, piano; Sam Jones, bass ( on 3 track ), Laymon Jackson, bass (on 4 tracks ); Al Harewood, drums.
Cover: Good Intact and clean. The record has some light staining on the back cover (see scan) and some "wavy" distortion from water damage on the front cover. This distortion does not show up in the cover picture and is more evident near the inset edge on the front cover. There is a minor tear line on the insert edge of the back cover, no paper loss.
Record: VG++ Visually shows no wear. Possibly played only a few times. There is some discoloration spots in the vinyl. This occurred during the manufacturing process and does not affect the sound. Side 1, Track 1, 2 light clicks during the piano solo. Track 2, 1 click at the beginning of the Track on the 1st revolution and 1 faint click during the trumpet solo. Track 3, 1 faint click near the beginning of the Track followed by 1 equally light click. 2 or 3 faint, barely audible clicks, during the piano solo. Track 4 has 1 very light click during the alto solo, barely audible, followed by 3 isolated faint clicks, and 1 faint click at the end of the Track. Side 2, Track 1, 1 faint click and slight groove noise for less than 1 revolution followed by 4 clicks. 1 click near mid Track followed by 2 clicks,. I click before the piano solo, 1 during the solo, and 1 right after the solo. 1 click and light groove noise on the last 2 or 3 revolutions of the Track. Track 2, 1 faint click at the end of the trumpet solo, barely audible and 1 light click at the end of the bass solo. 4 faint, isolated, clicks at the end of the Track. Track 3 has 4 isolated light clicks, 1 click during the alto solo and 1 faint click during the bass solo that is barely audible. As described the noise is mainly light and spread out over the record. Audibly checked.
