Phil Harris, bandmate of Lou's in the Jades, says in an interview about the record (http://olivier.landemaine.free.fr/loureed/thejades/jades.html):
"I am presently looking at what might be one of the last of the "So Blue" records. It does have a crack, but it still plays. I'm not sure if anyone else has any copies of it."
Well, I've got a copy, it has no crack, and dealing with three kids in college forces me to put it on the block. 16 year-old Lou Reed wrote, played guitar, and sang back-up on these doo wop tunes in 1958; sax legend King Curtis was brought in to the studio to add his touch. Lou talked about this single recently in an interview he did on Elvis Costello's talk show, again claiming he was 14 at the time (still looks like he must've been 16). The white label promo of this record (which doesn't give Reed a writing credit for "So Blue") is the only one I've seen sales of on Popsike or elsewhere; it's entirely possible that more promos were pressed than blue stock copies (in either case, very few were pressed).
Vinyl a nice VG+. Labels have writing, one tear, and a name-and-address ink stamp from the original owner (who bought it in New York City in 1958 and sold it to me two years ago).
