Original promotional not for sale album of Lou Reed's second solo album "Transformer" produced by David Bowie and released in November 1972 on RCA Victor Records. Original 1st "Shorepak - U.S." printed cover with the gold ink finish at the top edge of the front and back contains a large white 4' x 6' promotional sticker with the recommendations for radio station DJs to audition the album's tracks before radio airplay. The sticker contains the track listing with the timing for each track and "Promotional Album - Not For Sale" text the bottom. RCA Victor orange labels with the large white RCA and black Dynaflex logo with the "Made in U.S.A. 1972 RCA Records" credits below it. Original white paper RCA Corporation "Dynaflex" inner sleeve. The vinyl was pressed at the RCA Records pressing plant in Indianapolis, containing the "I" identifier in the trail-off vinyl on both sides, and the very early 1st -A1 / -A2 matrix stampers. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - BPRS 7038 2S A1  I; Side 2 - BPRS 7039 6S A2 I.  ★ I grade the cover as Excellent. It doesn't have any splits, tears or writing. Some very light hint of ring wear at the top and right of the front cover with some light scuffing along the spine. The bottom left corner of the back cover has a light crease. The beautifully preserved spine  has a fully readable text. The original "Dynaflex" inner sleeve is in Near Mint Minus condition and doesn't have any splits. The vinyl is graded as Excellent. The glossy vinyl contains only a couple of very light scuffs from the inner sleeve with Side 1 having a light 0.75' fogging that doesn't affect the playback in any way. The vinyl sounds amazing with a crystal clear punchy sound and doesn't have any background noise.
