Description
This is a very nice copy of Classic Records 200g pressing of Louis Armstrong’s recording of “St. James Infirmary” and “I Ain’t Got Nobody” from the complete recording of “Sachmo Plays King Oliver” on 1 double sided 200g Clarity vinyl 45 RPM record. This Clarity vinyl has a gold cast to it unlike all of the other Classic Clarity vinyl issues that I have. Classic only issued these 2 songs from the complete LP on 45 RPM Clarity Vinyl. When I first bought this set new, the records were cleaned with a VPI record cleaner and treated with LAST record preservative. More recently it was recleaned with Audio Intelligent Fluids on a VPI cleaner and on an Audio Desk ultra sonic record cleaner. It has also been demagnetized with a Furutech DeMag. The recording is very life like. There are no scuffs or scratches as far as I can tell (Clarity vinyl is translucent so it is hard to see scratches), but each side has some occasional very faint surface noise in the right channel. In addition, I noted 10 light ticks near the beginning of “St. James Infirmary” and 1 on “I Ain’t Got Nobody”.
I have only played the records a few times on various VPI tables I have owned (HW-19 MKIV, TNT 3.5, and Classic 4) using either Lyra or Benz Mico Ruby cartridges. The jacket is a plain white jacket with a small photo of the original LP and a list of the songs. There is some slight compression on the upper left corner of the jacket. Multiple records can be combined in an order to save shipping costs.
