Description
~ LOUIS BELLSON ~
U.S. Jazz drummer, band leader, composer, drum tutor. Active 1940's-1990's. Releases 1952-1998. Married to Jazz singer Pearl Bailey. Toured the world with his own band and also worked with many of the jazz greats including: Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Harry James, Count Basie and more. He died in 2009.
2 x photos. Original U.K. Press Agency photos released for publication & promotion. One missplet Ballson to reverse.
With printed captions to reverse, dated Dec 1966 & July 1967, with Agency stamps.
Condition: Excellent+, barely any handling, gloss finish photo paper
Note: Any odd white streaks showing to the top of the photo is light reflected on the gloss surface.

A rare original collectors item
An original vintage promotional photograph from a recently unearthed U.K. Press archive. The newspaper closed down in 1983 and the archive has been in storage from that time.
No modern reproductions here !
Any dates stamped to reverse indicate when the photo was used in the newspaper, but as the photos are sent out usually for promoting a specific TV programme/ film/ concert/ record release/ event in that week/ month, the earliest date stamped gives some indication of age. Some photo's have printed dates, some are not dated. I will usually include a photo of the back unless it is totally blank or has nothing significant.
Reverse: Most press photos will have some combination of- writing, date stamps, press slips/ bio sheets stuck on, cropping lines, newspaper layout slips stuck on, agency stamps etc. See photo of reverse if shown
This is a genuine item, not a copy or reprint. Photo is of actual item. It will be sent in strong envelope with extra protection.
Note: I try to take clear photo's of the items shown, however if there is any slight blurring this is the fault of automatic focus on the camera and not a fault of the item. Any faults are described above.
