Yes, one and the same, the controversial leader of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan started out in the Boston area as a Calypso singer, calling himself The Charmer. Tracks are: "Is She Is, Or Is She Ain't" and "Back To Back, Belly To Belly." He is accompanied by Johnny McCleverty's Calypso Boys. Farrakhan was born Louis Eugene Walcott on May 11, 1933 in the Bronx, but was raised in Roxbury Mass. (a suburb of Boston). He was an honor student, a track star, and an accomplished violinist, and even performed on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour. He started his calypso career at the age of 16.
