Description
This is Louis Jordan and his Tympany Five 78rpm record with the songs "Beans & Corn Bread / Chicky- Mo Craney Crow". Recorded in 1949 on Decca records.
I grade this an E. It plays very well, minimal surface noise and the music is nice and loud. I didn't notice any pops or crackles that played over the music. The only thing I did notice was a short moment of minor distortion near the end of side B. I'm not sure if that's just the way it sounds on my phonograph or it's from wear. Visually there are very minimal surface scratches and scuffs. On side B there is one spot with really small scratch markings that you can barely feel, that could be what I heard but it's barely noticeable. There is also a really small chip on the edge but it does not affect the grooves (last picture). Other than that the rest looks great and it has an almost like new shine. I grade 78s on a Victrola phonograph, Granada model. From now on I will grade 78s with the VJM grading system. I'll try to get to the records I currently have listed, but please message me if you want me to grade one and I'll update the listing. I will still take multiple pictures that show the physical condition.
All records come in a generic plastic sleeve, sometimes along with a generic paper sleeve. I will mention in the description if it's an original sleeve.
I want my customers to be confident these records will get to them in one piece. So I will ship this with great care, in a plastic sleeve, sandwiched between double corrugated cardboard and packed in an oversized box with shipping peanuts or other packing material that keeps the record secure from getting tossed around or crushed while in transit.
